Explore the Groppertal forest trail

It is just under 20 km drive from Hotel Bären in Rottweil to the start of this beautiful circular hiking trail. The entry point is in the west of Villingen-Schwenningen on the Obere Waldstraße at the Tannenhöhe hiking parking lot.

Directions

First you walk a short distance parallel to the rails.

Continue to the Uhufelsen – and shortly before the hard stone factory Groppertal you turn left (Groppertal), cross the small river Brigach and keep left on the path Unterkirnach. You might also climb the viewing platform at the Groppertal quarry. Before the Breitbrunnenbach, turn right onto the Gründleweg. Again, you first cross the Brigach udn then the rails and get back to the starting point.

You will enjoy shady forest paths and experience one of the most beautiful hiking circuits in the Black Forest hiking paradise.

Duration: 3 hours
Easily accessible by public transport.
