Excursion ideas, sights and leisure tips for Rottweil

Roman fans will definitely get their money’s worth: the Romans left behind important finds in Rottweil. Medieval alleys and decorated facades still characterize the image of the former Free Imperial City today.

The “Turmbau zu Rottweil” (‘Tower of Rottweil’) is particularly exciting and worth seeing.  Thyssen-Krupp is testing high-speed elevators in a tower almost 250 meters high. The architecture will not only inspire friends of modern architecture. “Let’s take the elevator,” will probably be one of Rottweil’s new favorite pastimes. The Tourist Information Rottweil regularly organizes guided tours of the tower.

But there are many more good travel reasons and wonderful pastimes for guests of the Hotel Bären in Rottweil:

This makes Rottweil the highest public visitor platform in Germany at 232 meters. A conference level is located at a height of 220 meters.

The Thyssen testing tower provides a 360° panoramic view. In good weather you can see as far as the Swiss Alps. A panoramic elevator with glass walls already turns the way up into an experience. Open every weekend for visitors. Here is more.
